Inflation rate in April was 1.6%
The average consumer prices this April rose by about 1.6%. Food products grew dearer by 2.8%, non-food products by 0.2%, while the services provided for the population by 2.2%.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the inflation was 60% determined by the rise in the prices of food products and 33.2% by the increase in the prices of the services provided for the population. Carrots got dearer by 24.5%, apples 18.2%, cabbage 17%, rice 10.6%, onions 10.2%, beef and pork 9% and 8% respectively, vegetable oil and dietetic eggs 5.6%. At the same time, dairy products got cheaper by 2.7%, while cucumbers and tomatoes by 20.2% and, respectively, 3.1%. Among non-food products, the prices of building materials rose by 2.4%, while golden jewelry by 1.4%. Road passenger transportation services grew dearer by 34.7%, tourism and trip services by 10.5%, while the services in eateries by 2.6%. The inflation for January-April 2008 was 5.8%.
