Only 4% of the software used in Moldova is legal, while the rest is pirated, says the Business Software Alliance. Specialists estimate that the piracy rate in Moldova is rather high and amounts to 96%.

This rate in Romania, where the legalization process has lasted for ten years, is 72%. The sellers of software say the piracy rate during 2007-2008 could decrease by 5% - 7%.

A list of the countries with the highest piracy rate is to be presented in Chisinau this week.
