DianaWerk air pistols recalledThe U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Wednesday announced a voluntary recall of DianaWerk air pistols after a report of the gun spontaneously firing. The recall involves the RWS - 5G Magnum Air Pistol made in Germany by DianaWerk GmbH and Co., and distributed in the United States by Umarex USA Inc. of Fort Smith, Ark. About 7,250 of the pistols were sold between July 2006 and February 2008, retailing for about $250. A CPSC statement said Umarex USA received one report in which the gun suddenly fired, injuring the user in the lower leg. The air pistols are black and measure 17 3/4 by 6 inches. The recall includes serial numbers 003316930 through 03344312. The numbers are stamped on the pistol's barrel. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled pistols and contact Umarex USA to receive instructions on how to return the pistol for a free repair. Consumers can also call 866-633-2910 for more information.
