The parliamentary majority on May 16 decided to maintain the tax of 500 lei paid annually by the economic entities for every square meter of outdoor publicity.
Under the amendments to the Fiscal Code adopted by the Parliament in second reading, the tax will be levied yearly regardless of the moment when the advertisements were posted and of the number of ads placed on the billboard.
The amendments were adopted at the initiative of the Ministry of Finance in a move to leave no room for misinterpretations of the law, which says that as from January 1, 2008, the tax of 500 lei for a square meter of outdoor publicity is paid when the ads are posted//
