Moldova-Gaz invested 55 million lei in natural gas pipelines last year
The joint Moldovan-Russian company Moldova-Gaz SA in 2007 invested 55 million lei (US$5.3 million) in the development of the natural gas pipelines. The head of the company’s administration Ghennady Abashkin said that according to the national gasification program and the main directions of activity, the daughter companies of Moldova-Gaz last year built and put in commission over 45 km of gas pipes as well as a gas a gas-filling compressor station in Drochia town.
Over 1,600 km of gas pipelines were built from different sources of financing. Seventy-nine settlements were connected to the gas pipeline. As contactors, the daughter companies of Moldova-Gaz participated in building 190 km of main gas pipelines. Over 7,000 consumers had been connected to the pipelines. The construction-assembly works carried out by the companies totaled 178 million lei (US$17.2 million).
