The Transdniestrian economic entities over January-April 2008 exported goods to the value of US$3.44,3 billion lei, an increase of 20% compared with the corresponding period last year.
According to Moldova’s Reintegration Ministry, the exports of iron and steel products made up 61% of the total exports, amounting to 1.87 billion lei, of products from light industry - 15% (456 million lei), of cement - 11% (338.8 million lei).
The exports of products from car making industry made up 6% (182.2 million lei), of electric power – 4.7% (142.2 million lei), while of alcoholic beverages – 0.6% (19.9 million lei).
Exports to the CIS countries totaled 1.364 billion lei, while to the EU member states – 1.29,6 billion lei, making up 33.8% of the total exports.
