Approximately 200 elderly people gathered again in the Great National Assembly Square on June 3 to protest against the increasing prices of food products. The pensioners expressed their dissatisfaction with the rising prices and demanded that the authorities provide them with pensions of a corresponding size.
The protesters submitted a resolution to the Government, demanding that it adjusts the pensions to the minimum consumer basket and accusing Union Fenosa, Apa-Canal Chisinau and Termocom of non-transparently and inaccurately measuring the power, gas and heat consumption.
Protest coordinator Maia Laguta said that the resolution gives the authorities two weeks to satisfy protesters’ demands.
The pensioners have announced they will return to the Great National Assembly Square if the Government does not meet their demands //
