Bush Hog utility vehicles recalledThe U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Bush Hog off-road utility vehicles due to loss of speed control. The throttle cables on the vehicles, made by Bush Hog LLC of Selma, Ala., can freeze in low temperatures, causing the engine to run at accelerated speeds even when the driver removes pressure from the accelerator pedal, CPSC said in a statement. About 4,000 of the vehicles were sold from January 2004 through March 2008 for $8,000-$9,900. The company has received 52 complaints, one involving a leg fracture, CPSC said. The recall involves Bush Hog models TH440 (Trail Hunter), TH4200 (Trail Hand), TH4400 (Trail Hand). Consumers were advised to stop using the vehicles and contact a Bush Hog dealer for a free inspection and repair. Consumers can also call Bush Hog at 877-873-0143 for information.
