Imports of oil products over January-March 2008 increased by 28.5% in money terms compared with the corresponding period last year, to US$212.58 million.
According to the information about the balance of payments, Moldova’s imports of oil products from the CIS states in the first quarter of this year rose by 14.6% - from US$115 million to US$131.8 million.
Imports of natural gas from the Commonwealth grew by 17.4%, from US$75.62 million to US$88.78 million. The imported volume rose by only 6.3%, from 486.3 million cubic meters to 516.8 million cubic meters.
Imports of gasoline and diesel oil from the CIS states decreased by 4.4% in money terms - from US$23.6 million to US$22.5 million - and, respectively 23.5% - from US$4.22 million to US$3.23 million.
Imports of diesel oil from other countries rose about twofold - from US$20.85 million to US$39.88 million, while imports of gasoline increased by 38.2% - from US$27.22 million to US$37.63 million//
