The Government decided to create a special fund designed to prepare the national economy and social sphere for the 2008-2009 heating season.

Under a decision approved by the Government on July 2, each day the Ministry of Finance will transfer 20% of the incomes accumulated into the state budget and the budgets of the territorial-administrative units to a special treasury account in order to cover the expenses of the energy complex and those related to the supply of water to public institutions.

The accumulated financial resources will be used to purchase fuel for the public institutions, prepare the social facilities for the cold season and take other related measures.

The heat and power-related expenses of the energy complex the next winter are projected to reach about 1.6 billion lei. Out this sum, 580 million lei have been already used.

About 54,000 tonnes of coal will be needed for the 2008-2009 heating season. Approximately 34.2% of this quantity have been already supplied// Reporter.MD
