Moldovans’ incomes are lower than minimum subsistence level

The incomes earned by the Moldovans in the first quarter of this year totaled 1.091 lei on average a month. This is only 83% of the minimum subsistence level, the National Bureau of Statistics has said.

The salaries paid in agriculture and forestry made up only 81.2% of the minimum subsistence level.

Yet, the incomes of the largest part of the salary earners were higher than the minimum subsistence level. The salaries in the financial sector exceeded the minimum subsistence level about 3.5 times, while in constructions, transport and communications – 2.5 times.

Pensions made up only 49% of the minimum subsistence level, as against 53% last year. The average monthly pension was 550.3 lei.//REPORTER.MD
