Minimum subsistence level in Moldova at 1,315 lei a month

The monthly minimum subsistence level in Moldova in their first quarter of this year was 1,315.3 lei for a person (US$133), an increase of 15% compared with yearend 2007.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the minimum subsistence level in urban areas was 1,418 lei, while in rural areas 1, 242 lei. The highest value of the minimum subsistence level was recorded among the working population, especially among men – 1,471.7 lei.

The monthly child allowance is 1,221 lei a month on average - from 480.7 lei for a child younger than one year to 1,343.2 lei for a child aged 7-16. The minimum subsistence level for pensioners is 1,120.7 lei.//REPORTER.MD
