The National Agency for Competition Protection reprimanded Chisinau-Gaz for the fact that it abuses its position of market leader. According to the Agency, Chisinau-Gaz forces the consumers to install only one type of meters, limiting thus their right to choose.

The Agency warned the company not to admit such infringements in the future and offer the consumers the possibility of choosing the type of meters they want from among the ones certified in Moldova. The company is to announce the consumers and economic entities about this.

The Agency also identified four economic entities with leading positions in the area of heat production and supply, 25 leading economic entities on the natural gas market, 33 leaders in the area of water supply services and 32 leaders in the area of wastewater treatment services. The national authority said yet that the domination of the market by an economic entity is not a violation of the national legislation and the given entity can be investigated only when it abuses its position.//REPORTER.MD
