Exports of Moldovan wine to Russia will total about 10 million decaliters until 2011. Such a forecast was made by the director of the Russian Center for Surveying Federal and Regional Markets of Alcoholic Drinks, Vadim Drobiz.
According to Drobiz, Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization in 2009-2010 will hinder the development of the wine market in Russia.
“Until 2012, the state would be unable to cope with the alcohol that reaches Russia illegally. A state alcoholic capitalism will start to be erected in 2012-2013. By 2015, the state will hold 51% of the shares in companies that produce alcoholic drinks. The rest of 49% will belong to joint Russian-Western companies only formally,” Drobiz said, quoted by the portal Vinmoldova.md.
The Russian expert considers that the wine market in Russia by 2018 will total only 120-125 million decaliters owing to the higher prices of wine. Therefore, the Moldovan wines will still be present on the Russian market in 10 years.//REPORTER.MD
