Moldova will pay US$253 per 1,000 cubic meters of Russian gas in Q3
The Russian gas company Gazprom fixed the price of gas that Moldova will pay in the third quarter of this year at US$253 per 1,000 cubic meters. The announcement was made by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon. He said that the highest price can be US$258 per 1,000 cubic meters, depending on the caloric value.
Dodon also said that the internal tariffs for end-users will be set by ANRE. They will come into force on August 1 and will be valid until the end of the 2008-2009 heating season. The minister also said that immediately after the tariffs for internal consumers are fixed, the Government will raise the nominative compensations for 13 vulnerable groups of people. The price of gas is fixed according to the formula stipulated in the contract signed by Moldova and Gazprom until 2011. From January 1, 2008, the price of gas supplied to Moldova is raised quarterly, according to the evolution of oil prices in the past nine months. In the first quarter of this year, Moldova purchased Russian natural gas for US$187.81 per 1,000 cubic meters, while in the second quarter – for US$213. Until 2011, the gas price is to reach the European average.//REPORTER.MD Publication date: 17 July 2008 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- Moldova-Gaz debt to Gazprom at US$1.8bn - Moldova will not pay Transdniestria’s debt for Russian natural gas - Moldova will pay US$250-253 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas - Government will try to alleviate effects of new gas price - Analysis: South stream, North stream increasingly seen as exceeding Gazprom’s supply capacity - Moldova-Gaz will promote common policy on metrology in concert with four foreign companies - Moldova’s debt to Gazprom at over US$1bn - „Gazprom” could use the Russian roubles as a means of payment for the gas delivered to CIS countries - Analysis: OMV joins with Gazprom to undercut Nabucco - Sakhalin project gets environmental OK Latest news
