Gas and electric power compensations have been raised
The Government increased the nominative compensations for gas provided to the population by an average of 25.5%. The increased compensations will be paid from August 1, when the higher gas rates come into force.
Under the Government’s decision, the nominative compensations for the use of gas stove will be raised by 30%, while for gas heating – by 21%. About 11 categories of beneficiaries or 155,000 people will be provided with such compensations. The Government also decided to raise the power compensations offered to the people that consume up to 50 kW of electricity a month by 13%. The compensations for the users of electric stoves will be increased by 16%. Approximately 230,000 people receive nominative compensations for electric power. An additional 7.3 million lei will be needed to implement the given decision until this yearend. On July 30, the National Agency for Energy Regulation approved higher natural gas and electric power charges for the population.
