Central bank foreign currency reserves at US$1.66bn

The foreign currency reserves of the National Bank of Moldova on July 25 added up to US$1.661.7 billion. They have increased by US$17.2 million over a week.

According to the central bank, about US$436.3 million of the foreign currency reserves on July 25 was kept in securities, while US$1.225 billion in deposits and funds available.

The central bank’s foreign currency reserves totaled US$1.643,78 million on July 18, US$1.622,42 billion on July 11, US$1.543,3 billion on July 4. Late in June, the reserves added up to US$1.525,94 billion, while at the end of May - to US$1.446.67 billion.

In 2007, the reserves totaled US$1.333,7 billion, in 2006 – US$775.29 million, in 2005 – US$597.4 million, in 2004 – US$470.3 million, in 2003 – US$268.5 million.//REPORTER.MD
