Moldova in the first half of this year transported 12.7 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas via its territory, a 5% increase compared with the corresponding period last year.

According to sources in Moldova-Gaz SA, the Russian gas supplies to Moldova over January-June rose by 9%, while to Transdniestria – by 3%.

In 2007, Moldova transported 23.7 billion cubic meters of gas or by 6% more on 2006. The transportation of Russian gas via Moldova is insured by the companies Moldovatransgaz and Tiraspoltransgaz.//REPORTER.MD
