Moldova-Gaz debt to Gazprom at US$1.8bn
Moldova-Gaz SA at the end of June owed US$1.801,1 billion to Russia’s gas giant Gazprom.
According to sources in Moldova-Gaz, Transdniestria’s debt totals US$1.463,8 billion. In the first half of this year, Transdniestria paid only 26% of the consumed gas. As a result, Transdniestria’s debt to Gazprom over January-June this year has increased by US$123.8 million. The consumers from the right bank of the Dniester paid 100% of the first-half consumption. On July 17, the International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Russia ruled in favor of Gazprom in a case against Moldova-Gaz and ordered that the latter pay US$42 million of Transdniestria’s gas debt accumulated in the first quarter of 2006. The Court said that though the debt should be settled by Tiraspoltransgaz SRL, which administers the gas distribution networks in Transnistria, this company is not a party to the contract for the supply of gas signed by Moldovagaz and Gazprom.//REPORTER.MD Publication date: 08 August 2008 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- Moldova-Gaz made a profit of 82.4m lei in H1 - Moldova will not pay Transdniestria’s debt for Russian natural gas - Moldova will pay US$253 per 1,000 cubic meters of Russian gas in Q3 - Moldova will pay US$250-253 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas - Government will try to alleviate effects of new gas price - Analysis: South stream, North stream increasingly seen as exceeding Gazprom’s supply capacity - Moldova-Gaz will promote common policy on metrology in concert with four foreign companies - Moldova-Gaz will work out three-year investment program to modernize gas pipelines - Moldova-Gaz invested 55 million lei in natural gas pipelines last year - Moldova-Gaz purchased by 10% more gas from Gazprom last year Latest news
