MMZ to exhibit its products in Moscow

The Moldovan Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) in the Transnistrian town of Rybnitsa is preparing for the 12th international specialized Metal Expo 2006 exhibition to be held in the Russian capital on November 14-17. This will be the chief event of "The Moscow Metal Week" - a biggest forum of metallurgists from all over the world.

The exhibition will gather 750 largest metallurgical companies from 45 countries. They will demonstrate their produce in all directions of metallurgy and related spheres at the exhibition's 12 specialized salons.

The MMZ will demonstrate its continuous-casting and rolled items of a multitude of varieties and destinations, including the ones used for manufacturing piston rings for automobile engines.

The enterprise harbors big hopes for the Moscow forum. Last week, the European Union cancelled the system of double control of the enterprise's produce quality, so the MMZ intends to return to the European Union markets. Meetings with potential partners and buyers at the Moscow forum may well result in conclusion of mutually beneficial contracts.

Commissioned in 1985, the MMZ is reputed as the best-equipped steel-melting enterprise in the former USSR area, and is among the best 5 profiled enterprises in Europe. In 2005, it melted 1.05 million tons of steel and produced 889 thousand tons of rolled items. Forty-five percent of its shares belong to Rumney Trust Reg., 45.6% - to EIM Energy Investment & Management Corporation, 8.23% - to Steel Invest Ltd., and 1.17% to individuals. // Infotag
