Tokyo (dpa) - Tokyo stocks opened with little change Tuesday, showing little reaction to the November consumer price report released before the start of trade.
The Nikkei 225 Stock Average shed 12.29 points, or 0.07 per cent, to 17,080.60.
The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was also down 3.20 points, or 0.19 per cent, to 1661.67.
The November consumer price data was in line with expectations.
On currency markets at 11 a.m. (0200 GMT), the dollar was quoted at 118.95-97 yen, up from Monday's 5 p.m. quote of 118.83-85 yen.
The euro was quoted in early trading at 1.3133-35 dollars, down from Monday's 5 p.m. quote of 1.3135-38 dollars, and 156.09-13 yen, down from 156.10-14 yen. //
