The Government will pay premiums to the raions for the best autumn ploughing in 2006.

As Infotag has already reported, the respective contest was announced in October 2006 and envisaged high quality ploughing of agricultural lands by December 15. In accordance with the resolution, the winners-raions, whose total area of agricultural lands exceeds 30 thousand hectares, will receive 70 thousand lei ($5.3 thousand) for the first place and 50 thousand lei ($3.8 thousand) for the second place. If agricultural lands cover 20-30 thousand hectares, the premiums will account for 60 thousand and 40 thousand lei accordingly. If agricultural lands cover less than 20 thousand hectares, premiums will account for 50 thousand and 30 thousand lei.

The contest commission, chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Anatol Spivacenco, decided not to award the first premium in the first and the second group and the second premium in the third group.

The Riscani and the Briceni raions will receive the premiums for the second place in the amount of 50 thousand lei in the first group and the Stefan Voda and Dondiuseni raions will receive 40 thousand lei each.

In the third group the first place and 50 thousand lei will be awarded to the Taraclia and Ocnita raions.

In 2006 no one raion received an award for the autumn ploughing, as no one of them completed it by the fixed date. // Infotag
