Chisinau land ownership decreases annually by two per cent
The area of the territories owned by Moldova’s capital decreases annually by two per cent, following the reforms of the land privatization, according to Chisinau city hall Department of Land, Architecture and Urbanism.
There were almost 8,500 hectares of land or 68% of the total possessed by the public municipal authorities in late 2006. At the same time, the state owns 21% of the capital’s areas and only 11% are private ownership. The total area of Chisinau, including the suburbs, is of 57,000 hectares, 12.3 thousand hectares of which are covered by the capital alone. The area market prices in the capital have significantly increased during the last four years. The average municipal price for a square meter in Chisinau is 153 dollars. A sq.m. in Botanica district is estimated at 103 dollars, in Buiucani – 255 dollars, in Rascani - 120 dollars, in Ciocana - 70 dollars and in the Centre - 215 dollars. "The latest tendencies reflect the gradual expansion of the investment interest from the centre to the outskirts of the city", the experts of the land direction said. The urban land market is developing, practically, against the law and there is lack of information transparency and advertisement regarding the areas, the experts added. // BASA-Press Publication date: 12 July 2007 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- Chisinau-Gaz warned over violations - Draft of municipal budget adopted in first reading - Municipality accused over space rental cases - Chisinau signed natural gas supply contract for 2007 on December 27, five-year contract on December 30 Latest news
