Goods and services supplied to Moldova within projects of technical assistance VAT exempted
The government intends to exempt from VAT the goods and services supplied within the projects of technical assistance by the international representatives and the donating countries.
In this respect, the Cabinet of Ministers approved at 8 August meeting a draft amendment to the Fiscal Code, by which suggests the VAT exemptions for these supplies of goods and services to enter into force since January 1, 2008. The water shortage in 2007 has already caused losses of about one billion dollars in the agro-alimentation sector; and in order to insure the alimentation safety of the population, the government has requested the international communities to assist Moldova with products, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Anatol Gorodenco has informed the press. Thus, the Cabinet of ministers announced the foreign donors Moldova needs 72 200 tons of wheat flour, 9 500 tons of rye flour, one million 641 thousand tons of fodder wheat.
