Ukraine wants Republic of Moldova to pay for the consumption of its electric power in hrivnas. A proposal in this context was launched by the Ukrainian central bank was addressed to the Government from Chisinau.
According to DECA-press Agency, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) wants to change the hrivna into a regional payment currency, and in future – into a fully convertible currency. The proposal addressed to the Government from Chisinau is a step made in this context.

The full convertibility of hrivna is to be realized very soon, UNB estimates.
We remind you that a group of deputies developed the law project regarding the currency control and regulation, which the Supreme Rada from Kiev approved on April 11th, in first reading. Thus, the new parliament may discuss the project in the second reading at the end of the current year. //
