In October inflation rate in Moldova constituted 1.6%

This October inflation rate in Moldova constituted 1.6%. Cumulatively for 10 months of this year, the consumption price index grew by 10.7%, compared with December last year, show data provided by the National Statistics Bureau (BNS).

In October food prices grew by 2.4%, non-food prices grew by 1.4%, and service tariffs grew by 0.8%.

BNS specifies that prices grew most to eggs (20.5%), vegetal oil (18.6%), fresh fruits (6.7%), grapes (25.1%). As to non-food products, coal (3.5%), women's outfits (2.1%) and children footwear (1.8%) reported most significant price growth.

Also in October, water supply tariffs grew by 10.8%; barber's services, by 5.9%; and hotel services, by 5.4%.

The Government and the National Bank forecast for this year an inflation of up to 10%, after in 2006 inflation rate stroke 14.1%. // BASA-Press
