Tall-ship cruise company buffeted
Windjammer Barefoot Cruises is battling stiff head winds these days, having to cancel sailings and issue refunds to would-be customers.
The Miami Herald reported Wednesday none of Windjammers' four tall ships have left port in weeks. Operations Manager Danny Walsh posted a message on the Miami Beach company's online message board, Tuesday night, saying it canceled sailings on the Legacy for Nov. 24 and Dec. 3, but is shooting for a Dec. 8 departure, the newspaper said. ''There are just so many difficulties, obstacles and legal issues that stand in our path,'' Walsh wrote in the posting. Still, he said, Windjammer will give complete refunds to customers "in a short time." Trinidad's Maritime Services Division must first conduct an audit of the ship's management company before Legacy can set sail again. That may take place next week, a division official said. The company also is being sued by its credit-card processor and customers whose cruises have been cut are bringing pressure to get their money back. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International Publication date: 15 November 2007 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- Bemol Company started to import oil products from Greece - Moldovan company will open grocery chain in Saint Petersburg - Net profit of Glass Container Company fell 11.6% last year - Lion-Gri wins golden medal at les Vinalies Internationales - Wine city to conduct third tender on selling land plots - Dell to buy back $10B in common stock - Vivendi will acquire Activision - Employee sought in $7 million heist - Clorox buys Burt's Bees for $925M - T-Mobile to buy SunCom Wireless for $1.6B Latest news
