Oil prices rose nearly 0.3 percent Monday after falling earlier on speculation slowing U.S. economic growth would reduce consumer demand.
Light, sweet crude oil for January delivery was up 25 cents or 0.28 percent to $88.53 a barrel in mid-morning trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Natural gas fell 20 cents, or 2.81 percent, to $6.95 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Heating oil fell 0.14 cents, or 0.06 percent, to $2.5033 a gallon.
Reformulated-gasoline blendstock for oxygen blending added 0.44 cents, or 0.19 percent, to $2.2734 a gallon.
AAA said the average U.S. retail regular unleaded gasoline price was $3.003 a gallon, down 0.5 cents from Sunday's $3.008 a gallon.
