Nearly one thousand small entrepreneurs participated today at a meeting of protest held in Balti. The participants asked for the institution of a moratorium until 2009, regarding the items of the Law 2008, according to which, beginning with January 1st, the basic activity of brevets is cancelled and only the one on the basis of individual enterprises is accepted, DECA-press Agency transmits.
According to Natalia Bogatenkova, who represents the entrepreneurs from the Market „Baidukov” from Balti, in case the authorities do not fulfil these complains, small entrepreneurs from Balti, who are working on the basis of brevets, threaten with the organization of great actions of protest. “We will ask for the dismissal of the governing party of Republic of Moldova and we will block the international road which links Moldova with Ukraine”, Bogatenkova declared.
The municipal councillor from the part of the Social Democracy Party, Sergiu Banari, one of the organizers of the meeting from Balti, says that the protestors would address a statement to the Parliament of Republic of Moldova and would ask the Municipal Council of Balti to form a working group for the initiation of discussions with the Government and the Parliament.
Small entrepreneurs are dissatisfied with the requirement imposed by the Law 2008. They consider that the obligatory character of creation of individual enterprises will cause them many problems and additional expenditures.
At their turn, the Balti authorities assert that they are aware of the problems of small entrepreneurs. Moreover, they say they have already created a commission which will analyze their situation. The vice-mayor of Balti, Lilia Gutul believes that “the law is already adopted and it cannot be modified”. Another thing is that we must adjust the places of commerce from the markets to the requirements of this law, the vice-mayor added.
According to the official data, there are nearly 2,4 thousand small entrepreneurs in Balti working on the basis of brevets. Their number decreased this year after some of them had created individual enterprises. // DECA-Press
