Supreme Council approves forecast of Transnistria’s social and economic development for 2008
The Transnistrian Supreme Council approved the Forecast of the PMR Social and Economic Development for 2008 in two versions.
The first version is the real one – it envisages a 12% GDP growth, the fluctuations of the average foreign currency rate between 8.6 and 8.8 of Transnistrian rubles against USD1, the devaluation – 4.8%. The optimistic forecast envisages a 15% GDP growth, the average foreign currency rate - 8.6 rubles against USD1 and the devaluation – 2.4%. The privatization profits are planned to be equal to 22.12 million rubles (USD2.6 million). According to the real forecast, the external trade turnover will constitute USD1.51 billion, the exports - USD690 million, the imports – by USD130 million more. The forecast in the second version does not virtually differs from the first version, which was declined by Parliamentarians in October and returned to the Government for reworking in order to take into consideration the present realities. That time the Parliamentarians considered it to be declarative and remarked that the document did not divide the GDP from the Russian assistance. They considered a 12%, inflation, embodied in the budget, unreal, as they thought that it would be not less than 20%. Last week Russia declared the resumption of its assistance for Transnistria and on Thursday the first tranche worth 110 million Russian rubles (USD4.46 million) was already transferred onto the accounts of the Transnistrian Regional Bank. // Infotag Publication date: 28 December 2007 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- Transnistria’s net indebtedness up - Transnistria wants to amend taxation system again - Small business of Transnistria in need of assistance - Transnistria plans to pay integrally for consumption of Russian gas by 2012 - The minimum consumption level in the Transnistrian region is 65 USD - Transdniestria would settle Russian gas debts in two years Latest news
