On Thursday, the Municipal Council of Balti decided to raise the tariff for water consumption, DECA-press Agency transmits.
According to the decision, the population will pay 10 lei per one cube metre of water (6.70 lei constitutes the tariff for water itself, and 3,30 – for canalization services). Institutions and economic agents from Balti will pay 27,75 lei (14,20 – the water; 13,55 – canalization services) per one consumed cube metre of water and VAT of 20%.
The growth of the tariff for water affects mostly individuals, but, according to the mayor of Balti, Vasili Panciuk, the authorities discussed beforehand about this problem in time of a reunion with the directors of the biggest enterprises from the town, who accepted the growth of tariffs. This decision is not popular, but it was dictated by the situation, the mayor declared. He called the councillors to vote for the growth of the tariff.
Before the growth, the population would pay 8,38 lei for the water, and economic agents - 13,78 lei.
In Balti, most beneficiaries of the services of „Apa Canal” are the citizens (nearly 70 percent). //
