The results of the execution of the budget-2007 can be considered good despite certain external and internal problems, Minister of Finance Mihai Pop said at an enhanced sitting of the ministerial board, devoted to the results of 2007.

He remarked that the budget revenues constituted 22.2 billion lei –1% more than the target. Compared with 2006, the budget revenues increased by 4.4 billion (24.6%).

The revenues of the National Budget exceeded the target by 0.4% and by 26% - those of 2006.

The tax service provided almost 55% of the national budget’s revenues and the customs service – 37.2%.

The highest tax collection level was in the Briceni, Ocnita, Nisporeni, Glodeni, Orhei, Drochia, Edinet, and Straseni raions - 103-107%.

The national budget expenditures constituted 14.2 billion lei – 3.2 billion more than in 2006, but by 1.7% less than the target. The minister explained the under-fulfillment with a bad practice of beneficiaries of financial resources from the budget, who put off all the procurement procedures for the end of the year.

The social expenditures accounted for 37.9% against 24.5% in 2006.

Minister of Finance Mihai Pop said that the economic expenditures increased in 2007 by 85.9% - up to 2.46 billion lei. This exceeds 17% of all the expenditures of the state budget.

According to the minister, the financing of capital investments from the state budget was improved. About 1.4 billion lei was allocated for this purpose in 2007 – 98.1% of the target, 391 million lei (40%) more than in 2006.

One third of capital investments - 429 million lei were used in the road sector, 281 million lei (20%) – for the installation of the gas supply, 150 million lei (11%) – for the repair of public utilities objects.  // Infotag
