Small entrepreneurs from Balti issue demands of social character
Nearly two thousand small entrepreneurs have protested today in Balti Town. They presented the authorities a series of demands of social character, DECA-press Agency informs.
The organizers of the action declared that this is a warning protest. The councillor Serghei Banari, one of the organizers of the action of protest, declared that, in case the Balti authorities „do not take into consideraiton the issued proposals in two weeks, they will organize a referendum for dismissing the mayor and dissolving the Municipal Council of Balti (CMB)”. The requirements of the protestors refer to the review of tariffs for conveniences; improvement of the brevet owners' situation; the limitation of the activity of electronic casinos in the town and establishment of some differentiated tariffs to conveniences for pensioners and workers of the budget sector. Required by DECA-press, the leader of the Social Democracy Party, Dumitru Braghis, invited by the organizers of the protest, declared that the action doesn't carry a political character, but a social one, because „people ask for a well-paid job and do not ask for changing the Government”. The initiation of a referendum is not a political requirement, the deputy said. The mayor of Balti, Vasili Panciuk, who tried to negotiate with the protestors in time of the meeting, declared that the authorities are open for dialogue and constructive cooperation. The head of the municipal authorities doubts about the fact that the tariffs for conveniences will be revised since the prices to products, services and energetic resources grow. We remind you that, at the end of January, small entrepreneurs from Balti protested for one week. They interrupted their activity, thus causing damage of tens million lei to the local budget. Small entrepreneurs participated at meetings of protest where they asked for the institution of a moratorium on the Brevet Law until 2009. At the end of the last year, there were 2,3 thousand small entrepreneurs working on the basis of brevets in Balti // DECA-Press Publication date: 25 February 2008 Source: Archive ADsRelated links- After the massive protests of small entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce accepts some proposals of brevet owners - Several actions of protests will be organized by small entrepreneurs in Chisinau in the following two months - The protests of small entrepreneurs from Balti damaged the „Association of Markets” with over a quarter of a million lei - Small entrepreneurs from Balti start mass actions of protest - In Floresti, more than half of small entrepreneurs will have the right to work one more year without registering individual enterprises - Small entrepreneurs from Balti threaten with great protests - The sitting of the Municipal Council of Balti was held under closed doors for more than one hour - Survey: Execs wary of entrepreneurship Latest news
